Work environment

Organization
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the court. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Mission Statement
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.

Challenge
Candidates must be willing to work in a correctional environment where ongoing contact with federally sentenced offenders may be necessary.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to fill similar vacancies of various tenures (e.g.indeterminate, term, casual, acting, etc.) with Correctional Service Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing administrative support in an environment with competing demands.
Experience in communicating with diverse range of stakeholders or clients.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post secondary educational program in a speciality relevant to the position to be staffed.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
Experience in working in a customer service environment related to sales or marketing
Experience in preparing cost estimates for complex orders or projects
Experience in using financial systems (for example IFMMS, I-Procurement, SAP or Oracle)
Experience in utilizing the government Shared Travel System
Experience in managing a Bring Forward (BF) system for tracking and meeting deadlines.
Experience working in CORCAN or with CORCAN products
Experience in managing an online selling platform
Experience in preparing documents related to contracting
Experience in preparing documents related to Human Resources
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must be willing to travel, including overnight travel.
Work outside regular business hours may be required on occasion.
