Incumbent is assigned to the Gallery Shops of the Administrator’s Staff and provides the high level of customer service needed to maximize sales and keep the shops neat and well stocked. Manages the Retail System software, POS software, and interfaces by monitoring, maintaining, and intervening in software processes, evaluating and upgrading software as appropriate, and maintaining the software’s integrity through regular maintenance processes. Oversees testing and evaluation of all new software and software upgrades before implementing them. Ensures that appropriate staff are trained in the use of the software and any changes that may be applied. Oversees testing, implementation, and problem resolution of communications software solutions for the Retail , Web, and POS systems. Ensures smooth flow of Retail System and POS equipment operation by monitoring, managing, and intervening in hardware processes, evaluating and upgrading equipment as necessary, and maintaining the equipment through service contracts and regular maintenance operations. Ensures that system documentation is prepared and maintained so that there are clear directives and procedures to operate the hardware and effectively use the software. Provides friendly, courteous customer service. Greets visitors and assists them in their selection of merchandise. Answers questions and offers alternative suggestions. Recommends and or suggests related merchandise to enhance sales. Operates a POS terminal and is responsible for properly ringing up merchandise, encoding stock numbers, prices and other information as well as accurately tendering monies. Maintains assigned stock responsibilities including replenishing and straightening merchandise on sales floor, as well as placing weekly merchandise requests from the Gallery Shop’s warehouse. Assists and supports store staff in maintaining all other stock departments. Communicates any merchandise issues to Store Managers. Maintains the appearance of merchandise and fixtures by cleaning, organizing and rearranging stock. Follows established sales procedures and policies, and applies them as situations arise. Examples include, but are not limited to: send sales, refunds, returns, employee discounts, and markdowns. Accounts for cash, checks, and credit cards at the end of the day and completes a closeout of the monies and media. Maintains an inventory control program via accuracy, customer awareness and properly following established guidelines. Other duties as assigned.Travel Required
