Summary
The selectee for this position serves as the Principal Assistant to the Division Technical Director at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).
As an Executive Assistant your duties include but are not limited to:
Anticipating needs of management.
Reviewing outgoing correspondence, reports, etc. for proper format, grammar, and punctuation and removing typographical errors in accordance with established policies.
Tracking administrative actions to ensure that deadlines are met.
Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive executive level schedule of appointments, meetings or conferences.
Using automated system such as Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) to develop, submit or track purchase requisitions.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Selectee must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Selectee is required to participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

This position has promotion potential to the NG-04 (GS-09/10 equivalent) grade. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. NG-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NG-03 (GS-07/08) in the Federal service providing administrative support for executive level management to include drafting and editing correspondence, preparing travel orders using automated software. Examples of qualifying experience may include: maintain records or files; scheduling meetings; greet visitors; answer phones; arrange travel. NG-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NG-02 (GS-05/06) in the Federal service providing clerical assistance for management level staff. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Performing all clerical and daily administrative support activities for management level staff; composing routine and exceptional correspondence using office automation equipment and software; prepare, proofread, and edit correspondence of others; review outgoing documentation for adherence applicable standards; maintain records or files; scheduling meetings; greet visitors; answer phones; arrange travel.
