This position is located in Employment Services, Human Resources Division, United States Marshals Service (USMS). Employment Services includes Law Enforcement Recruiting, Headquarters and Field Staffing, and the Criminal Investigator Merit Promotion Program. The incumbent serves as a trainee Human Resources Assistant (Recruitment and Placement) responsible for providing support and assistance to the Human Resources Specialists.

Duties
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing support and assistance to the Human Resources Specialists
- Entering personnel actions into an automated database
- Verifying if applicants meet time-in-grade requirements
- Establishing official personnel files
- Providing status updates on personnel actions
- Maintaining files and reference materials
- Preparing correspondence and reports using office automation and various software packages
- Answering phone calls and visitor questions and referring more complex issues to the Human Resources Specialist
