Duties
The Teller is personally and financially responsible for the performance of all duties related to the proper receipt and disposition of all collections, and payments at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS), located in Minneapolis, MN. These duties are, but may not be limited to:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required
- Ensures Cash disbursements are made at the customer service window to employees, patients and other customers for such items as patient funds, research participant, beneficiary travel, supplies, services and lectures.
- Examines a wide variety of documents in connection with disbursements, determining their completeness and acceptability for cash payments.
- Coordinates and administers electronic funds transfer (EFT) of beneficiary travel payments to eligible patients utilizing a national database
- Ensures the accuracy of the payment by auditing the patient name, dates of service, mileage and validity of claim.
- Maintains an inventory of the convenience checks and acts as primary agent of the checks at the Health Care System.
- Prepares and processes deposits daily.
- Identifies discrepancies with amounts or bank routing symbols and initiates action to effect proper reconciliation by rejecting non-negotiable monetary instruments, verifying amounts, requesting replacement checks or requesting a peer review.
- Accepts payments on various types of receivables such as Pharmacy co-pay, torts, employee, vendor, worker's compensation, and ineligible hospitalization.
- Coordinates retrieval and management of cash availability at the cashier office.
- Prepares and submits the monthly cash advance accountability report to Chief Financial Officer and Department of Treasury.
