About the Position: This announcement is being used to fill permanent seasonal (FTS) position at Deer Creek Lake in New Holland, OH. Full-time Seasonal (FTS) position. Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work of less than 12 months each year. Seasonal employees are permanent employees who are placed in non-duty/non-pay status and recalled to duty in accordance with pre-established conditions of employment.

Duties
Performs a variety of operation and maintenance duties at comprehensive water resource projects consisting of a flood control dam, water treatment plant, public-use recreational facilities, forest lands and roads. Performs the following duties:
- Electrical work: Make basic repairs of electrical wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures in project intake structures, outlet works, and dams, gauging stations, office and maintenance buildings, recreational facilities, and other associated electrical systems. Uses hand tools and test equipment such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, test lamps, and ammeters.
- Carpentry: Performs basic carpentry work associated with maintaining operations buildings and public access areas.
- Masonry: Maintains, repairs, modifies for accessibility, and occasionally constructs structures of concrete, block, and occasionally brick or other related materials. Uses basic techniques and procedures in placing concrete and laying block accurately in construction or repair of partitions, walls, and walkways.
- Plumbing: Assists in installing, modifying, and repairing existing and new utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water and oil distribution systems, water closets, tubs, and showers. Removes, cleans, and replaces joints and fixtures.
- Roofing: Locates leaks and determines cause and extent of damage. Removes and replaces broken or warped roof shingles. Patches leaking flashing. Repairs or replaces broken downspouts and gutters on dwelling, garage, shop building, and gate house.
- Performs a variety of surveillance and administrative functions in support of project operations.
- Monitors the water quality for the Water Treatment Plant.
- Painting: Brushes, rolls, and spray paints wood, concrete, and metal surfaces. Uses scrapers, wire brushes, putty knives, sandpaper, and chemicals to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Operates equipment such as but not limited to: pick-up truck, dump truck, skid steer and all terrain vehicle (ATV). Transports personnel, material, equipment, etc. on a variety of roads including interstate highways, narrow country roads and on steep winding grades.
- Operates flood control equipment by reading gauges, evaluating rise rate of lake, operating switches, levers, and electric panels to position dam gates, flaps, and valves to control water flow.
