What can I expect to do in this role?
• Provides research, writing, graphics development and website planning support for the ministry Fish and Wildlife Program.• Coordinate planning and scheduling of outreach/events for the Learn to Fish Mobile Unit.
• Consults with various program leads to gather information on fish and wildlife initiatives.
• Assists with the social media strategy for the fish and wildlife program.
• Assists with the planning and preparation of materials for website posting
How do I qualify?
Mandatory:
• Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively work in a team environment, as well as consult and produce communication materials for a variety of audiences.• Organizational, research and analytical skills to gather and compile information.
• General knowledge of fish and wildlife management, biodiversity, hunting, fishing, conservation, habitat management, fish and wildlife enforcement and environmental issues.
• Knowledge of communication techniques and practices in such fields as journalism, advertising, display production, social media and website development.
• Proficient in computers and MS Office products (i.e. Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Eligibility:
• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;• Class G driver's license;
• Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a degree, postgraduate certificate or diploma within the last four years;
• Candidate must be willing to travel/drive extensively across the province.
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in one MNRF 18-month placement and must not have participated in the MNRF internship program in the past.
Please Note: The successful candidate will begin at the base-level pay rate and will move up in the pay scale in accordance with the OPSEU collective agreement.
