About the Position:
These vacancies are for a Project Assistant located at USACE's Lake Project Offices. The locations are at the Conchas Lake Project Office, Cochiti Lake Project, or Santa Rosa Lake Project Office, NM. You will be a the primary point of contact for Office Automation and project related activities.
Below are examples of duties that you will perform as Project Assistant.
As a Project Assistant you will be greeting visitors and responding to customer inquiries.
You will provide administrative support to management and assist rangers and visitors with project tours, managing the visitor center, school programs etc.
You will also be assisting management with reports and record keeping, by utilizing operating systems and agency specific programs.
Travel Required
25% or less - You may be required to travel under 25% for Training and Site Visits.
This position requires a valid state issued Driver's License.

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination.

This is a Career Program (CP) 51 position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in scheduling, filing, and proofreading. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration, business management or in a field directly related to the position being filled.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
