Summary
This is an administrative support position in the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) located at Point Mugu, California, providing a full range of clerical services for the Contracts Competency. Initial assignment will be in a developmental capacity designed to provide you with the competencies, skills and experiences needed to progress to the intermediate GS-06 level and reach the GS-07 full performance level.

Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Implements a variety of administrative processes in support of the work unit.
Processes moderately complex administrative documents by researching and applying instructions, policies or procedures.
Prepares and processes travel documents, including travel orders, vouchers, itineraries, visit requests, security clearances, invitational and foreign travel requests.
Requisitions office supplies, equipment, and publications, and similar office support duties.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing clerical work which includes all of the following duties: 1) Using automated office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to accomplish clerical assignments; 2) Preparing and processing travel documents for management and staff; and 3) Requisitioning supplies and equipment for organizational use. OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience: 4 years of education above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements. (You must submit your college transcripts with your application.)
