  About the Position:
  This position Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) is located U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, JB Myer - Henderson Hall.
  
  This position is located on Joint Base Ft. Myer-Henderson Hall. It is a 5 minute distance from Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station or 10-15 minute walking distance from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station and accessible bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington, D.C., and a short distance from major road ways and express highways.

  Responsibilities

  
  

  • Independently receiving, storing, and warehousing one or more commodities or classes of supplies and equipment, and for selecting and processing items for issue or shipment.
  • Receives supplies and equipment by loading and unloading trucks, vans, freight cars, etc. Moves items by hand or-utilizes material handling equipment, i.e., a hand cart, pallet jack, forklift or hand truck.
  • Make deliveries, pick-ups, and or turn-in of excess materials, using vans or panel trucks.
  • Establishes and maintains accountability by verifying stock numbers, item descriptions, quantity, and the conditions of items being received or issued.
  • Reports damages or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately upon detection.
  • Selects items ensuring proper quantity and nomenclature of selected stock conforms to information indicated on shipping or issue documentation.
  • Exercise care to ensure correct items are being issued to an authorized customer and that the customer verifies/inspects supplies at the time of receipt.
  • Ensures that the receivers signature and printed name is obtained on the issue document.
  • Ensures accountable records are properly prepared, annotated and safeguard.
  • Completes and processes receiving and issue documents either manually or through the use of automated systems.

  • Position requires an ANACI security investigation.
  • Moving expenses will not be authorized.
  • Position requires a VALID State CDL License

  • This is a Career Program (CP) 13 position (Supply Management).

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) background investigation

  Qualifications

  Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
  
  There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
  
  Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (FLO)~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform the Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) position without more than normal supervision - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
