This is a key position within the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE utilizes the government's second largest cadre of law enforcement officers to ensure our nation's economic, transportation and infrastructure security. ICE enforces immigration and customs laws. Who May Apply:
- Current Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees serving on a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service who work within the local commuting area and are assigned there on a permanent basis.
- Current Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees who meet the established criteria in an Office of Personnel Management Interchange Agreement who work within the local commuting area and are assigned there on a permanent basis.
Organizational Location: This position is located in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), New York Field Office. Duty Location: New York, NY
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses will not be paid.

As an Enforcement and Removal Assistant (Office Automation), you will:
- Research detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non-detained dockets;
- Provide administrative support to managers, supervisors or staff members by assisting in the day-to-day management of the office's activities;
- Summarize and tabulate detainee information from various reports, utilizing a variety of databases and automated systems;
- Generate and verify detainer reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, data quality and create and revise spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and presentations; and
- Exercise quality control over bond paperwork.
