THIS IS A FLEXIBLE BANQUET SERVER POSITION (0-40 HOURS PER WEEK) WITH AN HOURLY SALARY OF $11.55-$13.47/HOUR PLUS SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL AND SUNDAY PREMIUM.  FLEXIBLE POSITIONS CAN HAVE HOURS SCHEDULED ANYWHERE FROM 0-40 PER WEEK BASED ON THE NEED OF THE DEPARTMENT.

Duties

30%  - Performs necessary preparations prior to the banquet function, including: setting tables with the appropriate flatware, china and glassware, decorations and skirting. Prepares staging areas with such supplements as bread, cream, butter, salad dressing, sugar, salt, pepper, lemons, additional dishes and flatware as needed based on the banquet event order provided.
30% - Performs table service and clearing of each meal course in unison with other servers. Fills guests requests, within reason, based on the menu provided. Serves beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic based on the menu provided, keeping water, coffee and other requested beverages filled throughout the meal service. Carry trays with 8-10 servings each from the kitchen to the banquet room for service. Set-up and decorate, food and/or beverage buffets assisting guests in the service of food.
30% - Have the ability to retain basic knowledge of food preparation methods and ingredients in order to provide information to the guests, if asked. Provide a high level of customer service to multiple guests in a short timeframe while filling requests. Maintain the sequence of service for a multiple number of people at the same time.
5% - Perform basic cleaning tasks in the server areas, dining room and lounge area. To include, but not limited to, clearing of china, glassware and flatware, disposable items and food, as well as, wiping down tables, chairs and other surfaces.
5% - Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must meet minimum age qualification for serving alcoholic beverages. Must have a basic knowledge of commercial food service standards. Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks in a short timeframe in a highly stressful environment, while maintaining organization and customer service.  Employment is conditional on the successful completion of a National Agency Check (NACI).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
