The United States Marshals Service is the nation's oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.
The incumbent serves as an Administrative Officer responsible for providing advice and assistance to Witness Security Regional Office management on administrative operations; property management; procurement management; financial management; Federal travel, etc.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate with a property management office to maintain accountable property records.
Review monthly credit card statements for accuracy and resolve billing issues/problems.
Review travel vouchers and authorizations for completeness and accuracy.
Process new employees and ensure all required forms are filled out.
Maintain division files and provide assistance with division services.
Prepare necessary paperwork to transfer, sell, or auction vehicles.
Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
A one year trial/probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level performing the following duties:
preparing hand receipts and maintaining appropriate accountable property files;
utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to procure supplies and services;
tracking expenditures for travel, supplies, fuel, vehicle maintenance, office equipment and maintenance, overtime, etc.;
maintaining office personnel files to include performance evaluations, personnel action forms, awards, etc.;
identifying and recommending actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations; and
establishing and maintaining individual vehicle files.

Education: Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree, 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or a LL.B. or J.D. Education must be in business management, finance, accounting, or other field directly related to the work of the position to receive credit. Combination: A combination of the above described graduate level education and specialized experience such that they total 100% of the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Only graduate education in excess of one year (i.e., 18 semester hours) may be combined with experience under this standard. NOTE: Applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts for verification.
