Fort Bragg is 2 hours from the beach, with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This position is located at Stout Child Development Center, Fort Bragg, NC.

Work Schedule: Irregular tour of duty to include split shifts. Must be able to work in between the hours of 5:15 am and 6:00 pm.

Army NAF pay setting rules/requirements applies to this announcement.

Duties

Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Assists in providing and leading planned activities for program participants. Helps establish a program environment that promotes positive children and youth interactions with other children, youth and adults.

Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events. Helps arrange for/serve appropriate snacks/meals where applicable. Observes children and youth for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed. Ensures children and youth depart with authorized person according to written parental instruction. Assists in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports. Completes designated training

Qualifications

For Entry Level Candidate must:
· Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
· Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal)

For Skill Level Candidates must:
· Meet Entry-level requirements
· Possess three (3) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth
· Completion of Army Entry Level Training Certificate Air Force/Navy equivalent

OR

· Meet Entry-level requirements and demonstrated satisfactory performance
· six (6) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth, plus nine (9) semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying).

For Target Level Candidates must:
· Meet entry-level requirements
· Meet skill-level requirements and demonstrated satisfactory performance
· Possess eighteen (18) months experience working in a group program, plus an associate's degree or at least sixty (60) semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study twenty-four (24) semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying).

OR one of the following

1. A bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above.

2. Possess and maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential.

*High school diploma/GED certificate or College Transcript; must be uploaded at the time of application.


Conditions of Employment:
1. If selected, a completed and signed copy of our job application form (DA Form 3433) is required prior to entrance on duty. (Click here to view form).
2. Must be 18 years of age at time of employment.
3. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15m, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
4. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
5. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
6. Incumbent is legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
7. Individuals who have been trained will be required to administer routine and rescue medications prescribed by a physician to children/youth, perform CPR and first aid, and aid in providing a reasonable accommodation to children/youth with a special need.
8. Travel to on and off post locations may be required. Schedule may include irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors.
9. Successful completion of Entry Level training requirements within prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required before non-competitive advancement to the next level of responsibility (CYPA Target Level - 4).
