- Successful completion of a Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (PDD) examination
Mission Statement: The NRO is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching and maintaining America's intelligence satellites. The NRO provides reconnaissance information to the Intelligence Community and the DoD warfighters. For more information see: http://www.nro.gov.

Duties
As a Security Specialist (Polygrapher) you will be responsible for the following duties:
• This is a developmental position and incumbent will receive on-the-job experience and/or formal training.
• Incumbent will receive specific instructional guidance and according to a specific formal training plan, perform progressively more responsible and technical complex assignments and tasks associated with the work.
• As experience is gained, the incumbent works with greater initiative and independence, progressing through the training levels to the full performance target level, GG-0080-13.
• At the full performance level works under the general supervision of the Supervisory Security Specialist (Polygraph Examiner), conducting polygraph examinations ranging from the apparently innocuous to more complex, highly sensitive security issues.
• Ensure polygraph examinations strictly comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct examinations of high profile examinees, and/or specialized tests following repetitively unresolved examinations.
• Apply DoD Directive 5210.48, ODNI policy and NRO Directives relating to polygraph and personnel security.
• Review available supporting documents to assess best course of action for polygraph testing when discrepancies occur.
• Use follow-up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies.
• Research and determine or recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that may have impact to the organization, installation, command, or agency.
• Sponsor new Security Specialists on-site, and support the Supervisor with hiring actions for on-site personnel.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives, and perform special assignments.
• Provide technical advice to the Supervisor or peers on topics ranging from proper testing formats, test questions, test data analysis or interview approaches.
• Evaluate reports of subordinate employees' findings; analyze facts and perform appropriate research; and/or prepare detailed responses as warranted.
• Recommend options for unresolved or questionable examinations, or corrective measures for less experience examiners.
• Review available supporting documents to assess best course of action for polygraph testing that is inconclusive, advising Supervisor of significant issues and problems related to the examination accomplishment.
• Follow-up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies.
