Joining the Secret Service, Office of Government and Public Affairs, Liaison Division will allow you to coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of diplomatic and official passports and visas in support of protective details and investigative assignments. Duties
The selectee will serve as a Passport Program Specialist in the Office of Government Public Affairs, Liaison Division. Typical work assignments include:
Analyzing and interpreting regulations, policies and procedures of foreign governments, the Department of State, and Secret Service to perform a wide variety of analytical, operational, logistical, and administrative assignments of an unpredictable, intricate nature; approving and certifying official documentation; and examining applications and supporting documents for authenticity and acceptability as proof of citizenship, appropriate authorization, and entitlement.
Drafting technical official documentation (official messages, policies, guidelines, training materials, and other official documentation regarding implementation and compliance requirements; and presenting briefings to newly hired agent and uniformed personnel on U.S. Department of State requirements for obtaining a diplomatic/official passport, as well as the laws and regulations regarding the use of passports.
Providing recommendations in developing or revising policies, procedures, and instructions in accordance with federal regulations.
Developing short and long-range plans, goals and objectives for the execution of the Passport Office objectives.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-07 level (starting salary $44,941) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level performing duties such as: establishing and maintaining liaison with diverse groups of people to ensure all information relative to passport requests are efficient and expeditiously coordinated; performing analytical tasks requiring interpretation of information in order to provide guidance and recommend policy changes; composing letters and/or official messages; and reviewing and examining official documents containing personal identifiable information in order to prepare passport applications and supporting documents.

You qualify for the GS-09 level (starting salary $53,435) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level performing duties such as: establishing and maintaining liaison with diverse groups of people to ensure cooperation and coordinated of passport and visa projects; performing analytical tasks requiring interpretation of information to provide guidance and recommend policy changes; composing technical documents such as instructions or training materials; and reviewing and examining passport and visa applications to ensure completeness and verify authenticity of citizenship passport and visa applications to ensure completeness and verify authenticity of citizenship evidence.
