JOB SUMMARY:

The Director General shall be responsible for Coordination and Management of the NEMC. The Director General shall be the Accounting Officer and shall work under the directions of the Board of Directors

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director General shall be responsible for Coordination and Management of the NEMC. The Director General shall be the Accounting Officer and shall work under the directions of the Board of Directors.  The Director General shall also be responsible for:-
•    Day to day management of the Council.
•    Development and implementation of Council’s plans.
•    Annual Review, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Council performance.
•    Preparation of Annual Reports and Financial Statements of the Council for submission to relevant Authorities.
•    Management of Financial Resources and Properties.
•    Management and Development of Human Resources.
•    Ensuring development and sustainability of the Council and,
•    Advising the Board of Directors on formulation of policies and their implementation

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

i.    Master’s Degree either in Environmental Science, Environmental Law, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health Science, Environmental Economics, or Natural Resources Management. 
ii.   Minimum of Eight (8) years of experience holding Senior Management Position in the Public Service or reputable private organization. 
iii.  PhD will be added advantage.  
iv.  The ideal candidate is also expected to have the following qualities:-

•    Person of moral character, proven integrity and professional competence.
•    No conflict of interest with the Council activities and 
•    Visionary innovative and results – oriented and 
•    Age should not be above 55 years by April 2017.
