Dana HalvorsonThe Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) November 8 blog written by Anthony Camilli and Erin Scheithe includes information on helping to prevent scams targeted at veterans. In particular, it notes that CFPB is “offering a new placemat on scams targeting the Aid and Attendance benefit, part of a series of fraud and scam prevention placemats. Veterans, or surviving spouses who are eligible for a veteran’s pension, may be eligible for the Aid and Attendance benefit. This benefit may be granted if the individual needs help with activities of daily living, is bedridden, is a patient in a nursing home, or has certain vision limitations.
