Situated in Coquitlam British Columbia, the PDC is a Health Canada licenced inventory management and distribution facility established by the BC Government for use by BC Government ministries, Crown Corporations, government funded organizations, Municipal governments, and the Federal government. The PDC procures and distributes a wide range of products on behalf of Government clients and the Broader Public Sector.  The facility includes a self-contained BC College of Pharmacists regulated dispensing pharmacy and 50,000 square foot warehouse.  The business drivers are centered mainly on supply of health care products, medical services, pharmaceutical drugs, safety related products, and career apparel/uniforms products.

The Stock Worker receives, records, stores, ships, delivers and secures products in a highly automated, computerized warehouse environment.  Following standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as they relate to medical devices and drugs following manufacture storage and handling requirements governed by Health Canada.

Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation

  • A valid active Class 5 or Class 7(N) driver’s licence is required

  • Minimum 1 years’ direct work experience in an automated, fast paced performance oriented logistics and distribution organization

  • Beginner to intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience

Preference may be given to applicants with:


  • 2 years' experience or more working in warehouse environment

  • Experience with RFscanning / voice pick technology and equipment for receiving, picking or doing replenishments

  • Experience using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as SAP or equivalent

  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment  (MHE) such as forklifts, order pickers or ride on power jacks

  • Experience using automated horizontal or vertical carousel picking systems (White, Raymond)

  • Work experience receiving, picking, packing, shipping and handling medical devices/products and pharmaceutical drugs in a logistics environment

  • Work experience in an environment requiring Health Canada regulations specific to medical devices

  • Experience using automated third party shipping systems (Loomis and Purolator)

Special Requirements:


  • Must have or be able to immediately acquire:

    • Occupational certification in Transportation and Handling of Dangerous Goods (TDG certificate),

    • WHIMS certificate

    • Certification in operation of Material Handling equipment
