Corporate Administrative Assistant Clerk R14 Salary $46,106.58 - $52,227.13 annually This position is excluded from union membership. This position is currently under classification review. An eligibility list may be established. Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this challenging position The Teacher Regulation Branch is part of the Ministry of Education and works within a legislative mandate (the Teachers Act) to ensure that educators in the K-12 schools systems in BC meet and maintain standards of competence and conduct required to keep students safe and to foster public trust and confidence in the teaching profession. The Branch provides support to the Commissioner for Teacher Regulation, the BC Teachers’ Council, and the Discipline and Professional Conduct Board. The Branch assesses applicants for certification, issues, suspends and cancels teaching certificates, evaluates teacher education programs, investigates reports and complaints about teacher conduct and competence, and administers discipline processes. This position supports the TRB Executive Director and the TRB leadership team, the Commissioner for Teacher Regulation, and the BC Teachers’ Council. The Corporate Administrative Assistant reports to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for coordinating the Branch’s office administration functions including human resources, facilities, travel, accommodations, and scheduling management. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: • Grade 12 graduation & a certificate in business; • Consideration may be given for an equivalent combination of related education and experience • At least 5 years of progessively responsible secretarial/administrative experience • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint • Experience managing sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and sound judgement by telephone and in person • Experience establishing, developing and maintaining high standards and procedures in office administration • Experience coordinating complex meeting and travel arrangements often on short notice Preference may be given to those applicants who have experience in the following areas: • Recording minutes of public meetings • Using ARCS/ORCS records management systems Applicants selected to move forward in the hiring process may be assessed on the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies as outlined in the attached Job Profile.
