The Finance and Administration Department requires an individual for the position of Procurement Assistant, who will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative functions in supporting the Procurement unit.
• Supporting the acquisition of goods and services for the AGCO using established sourcing methods ensuring compliance with and adherence to relevant Directives, Policies, and Procedures.
• Tracking and updating the AGCO's fleet database with all vehicle-related information.
• Coordinating the issuance of new or replacement ARI fuel cards and managing the tracking and reporting of cards ensuring appropriate use.
• Assisting with the processing of billing statements and invoices.
• Maintaining and creating reports while providing regular updates to the Manager on any issues regarding the gathering of statistics and recommend new metrics for inclusion on applicable reports.
• Knowledge of (Government) procurement policies, procedures and directives plus 3 to 5 years related work experience.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Experience using financial software (e.g. Oracle IFIS);
• Superior record-keeping skills to ensure tracking sheets are accurate, the completion of reports and statements while meeting strict deadlines;
• Experience performing clerical tasks accurately;
• Strong arithmetic skills to verify the accuracy of calculations of quotes from vendors for procurement of goods, preparing reports and statements used by senior management;
• Good communication skills and the ability to adapt communications to the audience is important;
• Experience in administering the goods procurement process for service contracts;
• Good knowledge of goods vendor community to provide information on the application of procurement policies and procedures.
• The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
