The purpose of this job is to provide technical support services for computer systems, mobile devices, software, telecommunications and audio-visual technology. The incumbent monitors, maintains, installs and configures computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems. The incumbent is also responsible for contributing to the service desk administration and for identifying, designing and delivering corporate information technology training for staff. The incumbent will report to the Team Lead, Service Desk.Essential Qualifications
Education:Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
• *Recent experience in providing technical support services for computer systems, mobile devices, software, telecommunications and audio-visual technology;
• *Recent experience in monitoring, maintaining, installing and configuring computer systems;
• *Recent experiencing in diagnosing hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems;
• Experience in providing corporate information technology training to stakeholders.
*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of current and emerging trends in the fields of information technology, information management, desktop hardware, peripheral devices, desktop software, applications, networks, infrastructure;
• Knowledge of customer service desk support, desktop support and technical support;
• Knowledge of the specific software and hardware standard and optional tools supported by the Information Technology Services group.

Asset Qualifications
Certification:• Microsoft Certified System Engineering (MCSE) certification or A+ certification or other IT related support certification.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of corporate policies, guidelines, standards, access to information and security;
• Knowledge of CIHR operations, policies, guidelines, methodologies and standards in the areas of information management, information technology, information systems, access to information and security;
• Knowledge of CIHR, institutes and clients, their business operations, infrastructure, business requirements, business drivers and issues.

1) One term (1 year) position with a possibility of extension is currently available.
