Program Coordinator Nurse 7 (H) Salary $64,865.83 - $85,139.30 annually An eligibility list may be established. The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a program of Provincial Services Division of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Maples is a designated provincial mental health facility providing on-site, community, outreach and ancillary services to collaboratively support youth, families and communities. The Maples target population consists of troubled youth in British Columbia with significant psychiatric and behavioural difficulties, ages 12 to 17, as well as youth found Not Criminally Responsible by Reason of a Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or unfit to stand trial. Additional services include community consultation service, training/capacity building opportunities and ongoing sharing of current literature. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, our objective is to collaboratively enhance the capacity of communities to plan and care for challenging youth through a closer to home focus. On-site programs provide a period of clinical evaluation, stabilization, intervention and follow-up in a structured setting as well as support for families/caregivers and the development of a plan of care. Program areas operate with a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and childcare counsellors. Community programs are similarly configured, but delivered within the home community. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Education and/or Occupational Certification: • Current registration in CRNBC or CRPNBC. • Under graduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing. Desirable Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing. • Successful completion of any post-graduate development courses related to the treatment of adolescents with mental illness or problems of conduct. • Leadership, supervisory/ management training. Experience and/or achievements: • 3 years supervisory experience at the senior administrative level in a hospital, mental health, or residential care facility for adolescents. • Extensive experience working within the service delivery system for difficult to manage or psychiatrically ill individuals throughout the province. • Residential care and direct support experience. • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising a multidisciplinary team. • Extensive on-site care experience with difficult to manage, behaviourally challenged and children in youth with co-morbid mental health condition individuals throughout the province. • Courses in management, human resources and health care administration are also an asset.
