INTRODUCTION
JIDA is a Non- governmental, Non Political and Non-profit making organization, formed in
1999, registered officially, by the ministry of home affairs, in November 2000, Under societies ordinance of 1954, with a certificate of registration SO. NO. 10676
The major aim of the organization is to promote human development by fighting against all sorts of development constraints as well as offering relief Services to Most vulnerable and marginalized groups. The organizational emphasis is on promoting human development depending basically on local initiatives and locally available resources
JIDA implements among other a Sauti project with support from USAID through Jhpiego in Kaliua district Tabora region. The program involves giving support to key vulnerable populations who are AGYW (Adolescent Girls and Young Women) and FSW (Female Sexual Workers). The program is one of the most challenging programs that need qualified, energetic and committed people.
Meanwhile JIDA is looking for qualified energetic person who will work under the program as Behavior Change and Communication Officer. Below are the job descriptions and requirements:
Job Title: Behavior Change and Communication Officer (1 post) Reports to: Sauti Program Manager
Work station: Kaliua District
Employment duration: Full-time (12 month’s renewable contract)
Salary: Negotiable
SUMMARY OF TASKS
Responsible for reports preparation, field visits and monitoring according to established procedures and policies and ensuring accuracy of all reports and data recorded.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily monitoring of project activities at office and field (community) level.
• Coordination of informal and curriculum-based Behavior Change and Communication education to the target population according to work plan.
• Support Peer Educators and supervise them.
• Conduct weekly meetings with Peer Educators to assess the performance, review data report and provide guidance.
• Roll out trainings to Peer Educators.
• Ensure data from Peer Educators are well collected, compiled and analyzed and results shared with various stakeholders including donor organization
• Share information including reports.
• Any other duties as directed by the Program Manager
COMPENTENCY
The applicant must have the following competencies
• Knowledge of the assigned program activities
• Interact and maintain good working relationships with Individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
• Fluent on both English and Swahili languages.
• Communicate efficiently both verbally and in writing.
• Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following qualifications;
• Diploma or advanced diploma or first degree in social works or community development or development studies or sociology or any other related field
• Two years’ work experience in the same position or a combination of education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.
