Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) serves as the base support of operations for the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capitol Region and the U.S. District of Washington, Fort McNair, D.C. Fort Myer traces its origins to the civil War and Fort McNair has been an Army post for more than 200 years. Henderson Hall provides barracks and support for Marines assigned to headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps as well as certain schools and agencies in the Washington, DC metropolitan Area.
This position provides direct care to children ages 6 weeks through 18 years of age. This is a developmental position, from Entry to Skill, to Target level. Applicants who are placed at the Entry level are required to complete assigned training, and upon completion, will be reassigned to the Skill level with a 6% pay increase. Incumbents must then complete additional training, and upon completion, will be promoted to the Target level with at least a 5% pay increase. Applicants who submit college degrees or transcripts as stated in the "Qualifications" section below and meet all other requirements, may be placed directly at the Skill or Target levels and at the corresponding pay.
This is a Flexible (Flex) position and does not include NAF Benefits and is not guaranteed any hours. Incumbent may be scheduled to work 0-40 hours per administrative week.
The incumbent must be available to work a designated shift (not to exceed 8 hours) between the hours of 6:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment
At a minimum must have high school diploma or equivalent
Proof of education is required at time of application
Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
Satisfactory completion of physical examination is required
Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs; walk, bend, stand on a routine basis
Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease
Immunizations must be current including annual influenza vaccinations
Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks
Conditions of Employment:

2. All required background checks must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
3. A Health Assessment is required.
4. Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on the job competency is required. Failure to achieve desired training with demonstrated competence may result in separation.
5. Travel to on and off post locations may be required.
6. May be required to work before and/or after scheduled work hours, special events and occasional weekends.
7. Upon appointment to a NAF position, you will be required to show your Social Security card.
8. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority. Already immune individuals (based on documented receipt of vaccine series or physician diagnosed illness), or those subject to religious exemption, or medical contraindication are exempt from this requirement.
Qualifications
Candidate must:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
- Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment
- Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- Documentation of good mental and physical health and freedom from communicable
disease.
- Satisfactory completion (no convictions of child abuse, molestation, neglect, or
battering; or drug related offense) of Local and National Background Checks.
