Serves as the principal office administrative support assistant operating independently of any other such position in the office. Provides support and assistance to Division Chief and, in some cases, his/her subordinate staff by performing varied general office duties auxiliary to the work of the organization. Typical clerical and procedural duties of positions in this series include:
-- requisitioning office supplies, repairs on office equipment, and printing services;
-- receiving and controlling incoming correspondence;
-- reviewing outgoing correspondence, reports, etc., for format, grammar, and punctuation, and removing typographical errors;
-- writing simple or repetitive, non-technical correspondence such as letters of acknowledgment in accordance with a given format;
-- keeping abreast of various procedural requirements, for example, procedures required to process travel vouchers;
-- making complete arrangements for large conferences;
-- locating and assembling information for various reports, briefings, conferences, etc.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.
The duties require a knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and requirements; various office skills; and the ability to apply such skills in a way that increases the effectiveness of others. The duties do not require a technical or professional knowledge of a specialized subject-matter area. Must have progressively responsible work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform in such capacity. Positions that have a typing requirement require that the incumbent type a minimum 40 words per minute and to be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Power Point software.
All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks. All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit.
Highly Qualifying Criteria consist of experience using an automated travel system (like Defense Travel System) and preparing all aspects of senior staff travel arrangements; managing executive level calendars, shifting priorities, and de-conflicting schedules; preparing and reviewing correspondence in accordance to regulation and manuals for leadership signature; and possess at least three (3) to five (5) years experience supporting a senior executive in a large and diverse organization.

Education is not required for this position and will not be utilized in determining minimum qualifications.
