About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Public Works located in Yakima, Washington. It is located in south central Washington State, adjacent to the community of Selah, 10 miles from Yakima and approximately 170 miles from Joint Base Lewis McChord. The Cascade Mountain Range protects the area from rain, so the region enjoys over 300 days of sunshine each year. The area is known for a wide variety of agriculture, including apples, cherries, stone fruit, lavender, wine grapes, and hops. Over 100 wineries and breweries are located throughout the Yakima Valley. Outdoor recreation opportunities include world-famous fly fishing on the Yakima River, boating, white water rafting, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, and multiple ski slopes under an hour away. Educational opportunities include YV Tech, Yakima Valley Community College, Central Washington University, Heritage University, and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. The larger metropolitan areas of Seattle, Portland, and Spokane are close enough for a day trip.

Provide administrative office support to a directorate
Provide support with personnel and administrative programs, including timekeeping, travel orders, awards, purchase and inventory of supplies, and personnel actions.
Receive and direct visitors.
Maintain the Director's calendar. Schedule meetings.
Compose and review correspondence. Prepare reports and briefing documents; maintain suspense. Respond to inquiries.
Maintain paper and electronic files in accordance with the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS).
Serve as Alternate Site Security Manager for the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting Systems (DEERS)/Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Demonstrating the full range of clerical and administrative support functions for an office to include making arrangements for travel and/or meetings, preparing time and attendance records, maintaining calendars and preparation of documents, reviewing for grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Substitution of Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, business administration or business management.
OR
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
NOTE: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
