• Summary

  • The purpose of this position is to assist Survey Statisticians and to preform a variety of tasks.

    This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Survey Technician, GG-0303-06, positions in the Los Angeles Regional Office.
    
    Term Appointment: This is a Term Appointment, initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 2 years. This appointment may be extended 2 additional years at management’s discretion.
    
    A trial period may be required.
    
    Relocation expenses may be paid.
    
    The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

  Responsibilities

  • The individual selected for this position will:
    

    • Receive survey materials to assure accuracy and make neccesary changes.
    • Assist in determining field assignments while considering workload and location of field representatives.
    • Answer inquiries from field staff regarding survey procedures as well as trouble shooting laptops and computers issues including how to obtain a replacement laptop and compute equipment.
    • Prepare and mail field representative assignments.

  Qualifications

  • Specialized Experience:
    
    For the GG-06, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service.
    
    Experience for this position includes checking, reviewing, and editing incoming questionnaires for accuracy; conducting telephone interviews on problem cases and recording information; developing and streamlining methods of operation for office automation support such as installing programs, creating data fields to track data, editing and preparing reports including graphs and charts, and establishing procedures; and troubleshooting hardware problems with laptop or personal computers.
    
    Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
    
    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
