Summary

This position is located at the Child Development Center and the Youth Center on Herlong Sierra Ordnance Depot, CA. Responsibilities
-Answers telephones, ascertains nature of call and directs caller to appropriate staff, takes a message or personally provides desired information.
-Utilizes an electronic cash register system and calculator to compute and records individual transactions for customers.
-Provides administrative support including typing/word processing, mail preparation, copying, distribution, telephone calls, and travel orders for CYS personnel.
-Using office automation equipment and word processing software, prepares a variety of correspondence, memorandums, briefings and Daily Activity and other reports required for day-to-day operation.
-Maintains records, files, statistical data, and suspense system.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must:
1. be able to operate a manual or electric typewriter and computer software (such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel etc...)
2. have knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation and composition techniques needed to accurately type a variety of material from written sources or voice recordings.
3. possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
4. be able to type 40 words per minute (wpm).
5. be able to work occasional nights, weekends, and special events to meet mission requirements: facility is open 0600 -1730, applicant should be available to work shifts within that time frame.
Highly Preferred:
One year experience working in an administrative/clerical position communicating with customers, operating office machines, answering phone calls, maintaining and updating filing either manually or using a computer.
