Responsibilities
Qualification must be clearly verifiable in your resume.
Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous manner. Answers telephones. Provides customer service. Utilizes and electronic cash register system. Records individual transactions for customers and enter date. Using office automation equipment and word processing software, prepares a variety of correspondence, memorandums, briefings and reports, to include Daily Activity and other reports. Maintains records, files, statistical data, and suspense system. Initiates civilian personnel actions and helps track background clearance checks. Assists in maintaining leave records, and time and attendance records.

Conditions of Employment:

3. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check.
5. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
6. Documentation of good mental and physical health and freedom from communicable disease.
7. Successfully complete all required background checks to include a credit check and health screening. An annual health screening will be required throughout employment. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
8. Shift will include hours between 0900 am through 1730 pm. Occasional nights and weekends. NOTE: No person, regardless of circumstance, will be approved to provide child care services and/or approved for hire in positions designated as having regular and recurring contact with children if the background check discloses that the individual has been convicted for any of the following: a sexual offense, any criminal offense involving a child victim or a felony drug offense.
Qualifications
Progressively responsible administrative duties.
Skill in operating a manual or electric typewriter and current automation system and software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel) required. Must be able to type 40 wpm.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation and composition techniques needed to accurately type a variety of material from written sources or voice recordings.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Highly Preferred Criteria:
All answers to the highly preferred criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit.
-Previous administrative assistant experience
-Previous experience in CYS Child Care Program
NOTE: Applicants meeting the qualifications for the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred FIRST to the selecting officials.
