About the Position:The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and-operated manufacturing center located in New York.  It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813. Today it is relied upon by U.S. and foreign militaries to produce the most advanced, high-powered weaponry for cannon, howitzer, and mortar systems.  The Arsenal is the only location in the DoD that has a weapons research facility (Benét Laboratories) collocated with a manufacturing facility (Arsenal).

Duties

Assists in the creation and maintenance of the material master records associated with future requirements affecting acquisition, supply, transportation, storage, manufacturing, depot-level maintenance, budget and finance, production scheduling, forecasting and data quality. Maintains a portion of the main master record for the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), the Material Master (MM) record at Watervliet Arsenal. Assigned to/or assist in the creation and maintenance of the plant specific data related to the accounting, profit centers, costing, purchasing, warehousing, plant cycle counting schedules, shelf-life data, material requirements planning, and quality management inspection setup on over 20,000 materials.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:  (1) Experience with material requirements planning such as:  purchase requisitions/orders, material movements, and stock transfers in a wholesale distribution or manufacturing environment; (2) Experience with creating, changing, and combining records within a computer/enterprise system; (3) Experience with supply processes, regulations, policies and/or procedures; and (4) Experience with automated databases sufficient to input a range of information/data.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
