Area of Consideration is all qualified persons. Under Executive Order 11935, only United States citizens and nationals (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island) may compete for civil service jobs.
This announcement will be open from 08/17/2017 through 08/23/2017 or when 25 applications have been received. The vacancy will close on the day the first of these conditions are met. Any application received prior to Eastern Time of the day the application limit is reached will be accepted. You are strongly encouraged to submit all required supporting documents at the time of application, as the vacancy may close earlier than stated in this announcement due to the applicant limit being reached. Supporting documents will not be accepted once the announcement closes.
This position is seasonal in nature, expected to work approximately 48 weeks in a year. While it provides the same federal benefits of permanent employment, it does not provide for employment on a year-round basis. When operational needs or funds are not available, the selectee will be placed in non-pay status. Placement in non-pay status will not be on a sporadic, occasional, or unplanned basis.
Work Location: Ash Mountain (Headquarters)
Anticipated entry on duty: Early October, 2017
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
Area Information: Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks represent an extraordinary continuum of ecosystems (96% designated wilderness) arrayed along the greatest vertical relief (1,370 to 14,505 feet elevation) of any protected area in the lower 48 states. These parks provide a wealth of recreational opportunities via 835 miles of trails, wild and scenic rivers, alpine lakes, and caves, along with a full range of overnight lodging prospects to choose from that include 14 campgrounds. Duties
The incumbent will provide administrative and clerical support in the financial and asset management applications in the Facilities Management Branch. This position includes a wide variety of duties and the opportunity for the incumbent to explore many administrative programs utilizing a fully automated financial and asset management database systems, standard spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other government based software programs. Work performed will include: data entry, compose correspondence, completing various documents, spreadsheets and reports. The position includes performing multiple duties which add to the complexity of the position including: working in Facilities Management Software System (FMSS), Quicktime for processing divisional payroll, Concur for processing travel and other Government Software systems for processing miscellaneous reimbursements/payments, personnel actions, purchase requests and records management.
