The selectee for this position will serve as a Supply Technician in the Material Branch, Shipping Section, Supply Department, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD.  As a as a Supply Technician, the selectee is responsible for the receives and processes of commercial and Department of Defense (DoD) shipping documentation, including Government Bill of Landing, for material received at the receiving dock.

Duties

· Assists with the receives and processes of commercial and Department of Defense shipping document.
· Assists with maintaining receipt records in secure files for audit use and historical research.
· Uses and assists with monitoring automated information systems to ensure receipt transactions are properly entered.
· Acts as Transportation Agent for the Transportation Officer located remotely.
· Assists with maintaining records of material under inspection by the Quality Assurance Department.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Applicants must meet the following qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-05
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties that demonstrates knowledge and application of standardized supply operations and program requirements to apply established supply policies, day-to-day servicing techniques, regulations, and procedures by performing clerical or technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effectiveness of ongoing supply activities. Credible specialized experience include some or all of the following: 1) Filling out, posting, filing, controlling or coding documents or transactions for input into an automated supply database; 2) Monitoring the paperwork and records associated with a clerical or administrative supply functions; 3) Performing a wide range of clerical and data processing duties related to supply; and 4) Using automated transportation systems to locate, add, retrieve or correct routine shipment information.

Have successfully completed four years of education above high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.

Credible specialized experience include some or all of the following: 1) Processing bill of landing for received material; 2) Utilizing supply identification databases to perform records search, data input, and data transactions; 3) Coordinating with transportation office to ensure appropriate documents are provided for shipments; 4) Verifying shipping document complies with transportation regulations regarding vehicle and driver inspections; and 5) Assisting in maintaining material records using an automated supply database system.
