Duties
This position is located within the Personnel Security Section at the VA Boston Healthcare System. The selectee for this position may be located at either the West Roxbury, MA campus or the Jamaica Plain, MA campus. The Personnel Security Program assures that all staff have an appropriate security/suitability clearance commensurate with their assignment. Work assigned is of a very confidential and highly sensitive nature. Some of the major duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

- Registering and enrolling VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) applicants by evaluating applicant eligibility and identity, taking and/or scanning applicant photo and fingerprints, submitting fingerprints to the FBI, submitting investigation forms to OPM, reviewing investigation results, and approving or denying applicants' requests
- Providing up-to-date activity reports detailing the current state of the PIV Registrar activities
- Processing incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication related to the security program
- Performing work related to the collection, organization and/or tracking of information
- Troubleshooting e-QIP issues related to system functionality
- Reviewing position risk and sensitivity levels assigned to position descriptions
- Responsible for database maintenance, such as entering appropriate case data related to appointee's suitability clearance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
