About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as a Program Support Assistant (OA) in the Training Support Center-Hampton Roads, Supply Support Department, Business Management Directorate of TRAINING SUPPORT CENTER.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• Verify procurement requests, specifications, purchase descriptions, and transactions are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Research different prices for supplies and equipment to verify that it is acquired on the most advantageous terms possible.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents for the department.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. TYPING PROFICIENCY:
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to inquiries (e.g. requisitions, telephone calls, letters, and personal requests for material, equipment and services) by providing technical information regarding supply systems and procurement services; Ensuring proper use of purchase cards by approving purchases and certifying monthly invoices; Reviewing documents for special projects in order to recommend sources and procurement actions; Ensuring compliance with all procurement laws, regulations and instructions.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Occasional standing may be required as well as occasional walking, standing, bending or carrying of light items.

Required to travel over night three to five days, two or three times a year.
