This position is located at Outdoor Recreation. Outdoor Recreation is located on the West Beach side of Lake Tholocco, Fort Rucker. Lake Tholocco is a 640-acre lake that offers numerous recreational activities. Boating, skiing and swimming are favorite sports at the lake. Facilities include four fishing piers,
beaches, pavilions, and clean restrooms. Outdoor Recreation is EFMP Friendly!

Duties
Duties require the use of trade practices associated with landscaping and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations.
Incumbent performs a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and minor repairs of buildings and associated equipment. Prepares and submits work orders for repairs requiring additional expertise. May identify materials and equipment for disposal and follows proper procedures for turn-in.
Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear of ice/snow, and surfaces are maintained according to safety requirements. Monitors outside areas to ensure proper installation provided grounds and maintenance support have been received. May conduct and document daily safety inspections of facility and grounds. Monitors access to the facility and grounds to ensure security is maintained.
Required to operate up to 7.5-ton trucks. Performs operational maintenance on park vehicles and equipment.
Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers / garden tractors (from 18HP to 31 HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weed-eaters, pruners, etc. Applies fertilizer and chemicals as directed. Weeds flowerbeds, prunes shrubs and trees, clear scrub trees and brush, and waters grass, trees, and plants supervisor of obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, and other situations that may impact work operations.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor work is performed in all kinds of weather and exposes the employee to wind, rain, dust, mud, hot, and cold conditions. Work inside is normally well lit, heated, and air conditioned.
