POST : Chief Inspector of Schools (Grade F/P5)
SALARY : Within the Grade F salary scale segment
LOCATION : Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Headquarters

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor of Education or any other Degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) plus an advanced University Degree (Masters) with at least four (4) years’ experience serving as Principal Inspector of Schools (Grade G/P7) or Principal Education Methods Advisor (Grade G/P7)

RESPONSIBLE TO

Deputy Director (Department of Inspection and Advisory Services)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will carry out the following:

preparing and consolidating annual inspection estimates:
organizing field operations of inspectors and keeping track over progress;
evaluating recommendations and proposals submitted by Inspectors;
compiling quarterly and annual inspection reports;
facilitating the introduction of improved methods, procedures and revision of curricula;
leading curriculum development meetings;
commissioning studies on effectiveness of established educational practices, methods and curricula;
organising and directing in-service training seminars and special re-adoption courses for teachers;
following up activities of Subject Associations, Curriculum Development and Examinations and Syllabus Committees; and
inspecting infrastructure and other facilities of new private education institutions before establishment and registration.
