About the Agency

The IMCOM-G-9 mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR programs and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Maryland. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

This position is located on Fort Detrick, MWR-Community Recreation Division, In/Out Door Swimming Pool!

Duties

-Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
-Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards.
-Lifeguards will participate in any required training (on-the-job training emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations).
-Assists in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required.

Qualifications

Possesses and maintains the following certifications:
-Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS);
-American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); -First Aid.
For Water Parks upgrade the certification to: 'Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid; CPR/PR/AED' (American Red Cross)
In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration or installation offered training (i.e. Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty.

Conditions of Employment:

2. A one-year probationary period may be required (only for RFT/RPT positions).
3. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.

6. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
7. Must provide all required lifeguard certifications no later than 26 JUN 2017 to be considered eligible.
