This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the duties of a ELECTRONIC ALARM SYSTEMS MECHANIC under normal supervision: 1) Determine and install wiring. Conduit, transformers and other electrical devices in the size, type, and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation of electrical alrm systems and equipment;2) Utilize national/local electrical codes, agency regulations, and equipment manufacturers operation/maintenance manuals to properly analyze problems and complete effective repairs; and 3) Install, maintain, repair, modify and test various security alarm systems.

Must be able to wear personal type safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Selectee must obtain and maintain a current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
This position may require ability to obtain licenses for the operation of Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG) and/or Construction equipment, upon notification. Should work be assigned that requires special certification or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment, the incumbent will be required to obtain such certification or licensing and maintain any associated qualification requirements. * For example, this position may require Respirator certification.
Call back and emergency overtime are regular requirements of this position.
Physical Effort: Works from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where the parts of the systems worked on are in hard to reach places. Work requires considerable standing, climbing, stooping, bending, stretching, and working in cramped, awkward positions on concrete or composition flooring, for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to climb 20-50 feet to hangar ceilings and roofs. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally way lift items weighing over 40 pounds with assistance.
