About the Position:
You will serve as Secretary in support of the Battalion Commander and staff by participating actively in the management of the office by performing administrative and miscellaneous clerical work.

- Current Permanent Department of Defense (DOD) - Civilian Employee (non-Army)
- Current Permanent Federal Civilian Employee (non-DOD)
- Former Federal Employee, eligible for reinstatement
- Eligible due to Interagency Career Transition Program (ICTAP)
- Eligible under Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA)
- Eligible under Veterans' Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA)
- Veterans with a service-connected disability of 30% or more
- Eligible for military spouse preference under Executive Order 13473
- Priority Placement Program, Program S (Military Spouse) registrants referred through the Automated Stopper and Referral System (ASRARS) for this position
- Eligible for family member appointment under Executive Order 12721
- Eligible for NAF/AAFES Interchange Agreement
- Eligible due to an Interchange Agreement
Duties
The duties of this position include:
- Receive telephone calls and visitors
- Personally respond to routine and non-technical requests for information
- Relay messages from Commander to staff members
- Advise staff members of approaching deadlines and follows-up to ensure a timely reply or action
- Establish and maintain office files
- Arrange meetings and conferences for superior, notifying participants of time, place and topice
- Keep supervisor's appointment calendar
- Maintain time and attendance records
- Prepare correspondence, reports and other material in final form from rough draft, notes or oral instructions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Travel Required
- Occasional Travel
- The business travel requirement is 5%
