Location: Pentagon, Arlington, VA a densely populated metropolitan area adjacent to Washington DC. Easy access by public transportation or personal vehicle.

This is a Nonappropriated Fund FULL-TIME position that includes NAF Benefits.
Incumbent will work in a large Physical Fitness Center in support of DoD military and civilian employees working at the Pentagon.
The incumbent may be required to work on first, second, or third shift and may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and at alternate locations if needed.

Duties

Works as a Recreation Aid (Physical Fitness) at the Pentagon Athletic Center, in the capacity of receptionist and facility worker. Is responsible for cleaning of fitness machines, locker rooms and pool areas. Ensures correct, proper and safe use of all fitness equipment and explains equipment usage to guests. Is familiar with the working of the pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi operations, ensures safety and usage is monitored, and identifies problems and informs supervisor of malfunctions. Opens and closes facility daily which includes turning on and off lights, TVs, music, steam room, sauna whirlpool, stocking towels, cleaning, etc. Is responsible for money handling and maintaining internal control practices as a cashier. Assists patrons with information about all programs offered by the Pentagon Athletic Center, as well as the local area as the job requires providing information to guests. Maintains a friendly, helpful demeanor around and towards guests in order to project a positive image for the Pentagon Athletic Center and our programs. Reports any problems to the Point Lead or to the Leisure Activities Director as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to our guests.

Qualifications

Must demonstrate the ability to offer excellent guest service.
