Duties
This position, located within the Albany VA Medical Center, works to assist the Radiology Department in the administrative and contract support and is expected to complete a wide variety of tasks.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Provides clerical public contact support services such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures;
- Screens calls and personally answers calls then the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements;
- Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication;
- Assists in preparing inquiries such as congressional inquiries;
- Edits and composes letters and reports, complies and reviews complex workload and patient data, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, prepares public presentation outlines, and develops standard form letters;
- Prepares recurring reports;
- Coordinates documentation related to employee education tracking, timekeeping, contract administration, and other related matters;
- Addresses problems or discrepancies that may arise using independent judgment;
- Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences;
- Provides general calendar maintenance;
- Maintains appointment calendar and reminds staff of meetings, etc.;
- Attends staff meetings, prepares meeting minutes, and follows up on action items with appropriate staff members; and
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
