The incumbent serves in the Clerical Staffing Program (CSP) in the Operations and Strategic Programs Division (OSPD) in the Office of Human Resources Management. The incumbent's work schedule will be INTERMITTENT. This means that the individual selected will not have a set work schedule, the work schedule is irregular. An intermittent work schedule is used to provide a trained workforce that is available on an "on-call" basis to supplement the staff in handling the fluctuating demands and peak workloads of the organization. Employees on an intermittent schedule are paid for the number of hours they work and there is no guarantee of a total number of hours of work. Also, there is no guarantee that work will be available on a regular basis. An employee working an intermittent work schedule may be eligible for health insurance. We cannot guarantee eligibility for health insurance coverage for intermittent employees. Employees working an intermittent schedule are not eligible for life insurance coverage and they do not earn annual leave, sick leave or paid holidays.

Duties
The incumbent serves in the Clerical Staffing Program (CSP) in the Office of Human Resources Management. The incumbent of this position provides temporary administrative and clerical support to a variety of offices within NIST. Duties include: screening and directing telephone calls and visitors; general office and clerical support such as preparing correspondence and reports; coordinating and scheduling meetings; preparing materials needed for conferences; maintaining appointment calendars; filing and record keeping, maintain time and attendance. These functions require knowledge of and skill with Administrative Support software.
