Come check out WSMR's beautiful mountain view located in the San Andrea Mountains, the Oscura Mountains, the San Augustin Mountains, the Tularosa Basin, and the Chupadera Mesa.



This position is located at Bell Gymnasium on White Sands Missile Range. This facility is open from 5:30AM to 8:00PM Monday through Friday and 7:30AM to 4:00PM on Saturdays. The gym is open on some holidays and for special events. Employees may work a rotating shift in a busy gym environment, and may support activities such as fitness classes and sporting events. This is a Regular Full-Time position which guarantees 40 hours per week and does include benefits.

Duties

Major Duties:
Assist in the planning markets and conducts an ongoing program to provide conditioning programs for facility users. Instructs in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, and flexibility.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program.
• A Fitness or Personal Trainer Certificate.

Best Qualified:

• A current Personal Training or Group Fitness certification from an accredited agency; ACSM, AFAA, ACE, or Cooper.

****Those meeting the Best Qualified criteria will be referred to the selecting official first. Those meeting the minimum qualifications will be referred if management desires additional referrals.****




Conditions of Employment

3. A completed and cleared physical examination by WSMR Occupational Health is a pre-employment requirement.
4. Completed and cleared local and national background checks.
5. A rotating work schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holiday.
