- Protect the President, the Vice President, and other leaders; investigate threats against them; and safeguard their residences and other facilities
- Plan and implement security designs for National Special Security Events
- Investigate financial crimes including fraud, identity theft and computer-based attacks on banking or telecommunications infrastructure

Duties
The selectee will serve as a Fingerprint Specialist in the Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division. Typical work assignments include:
- Developing, examining, comparing, analyzing and reporting fingerprints on a variety of surfaces using highly technical and advanced laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Performing complex digital enhancements of prints; and searching, comparing and analyzing prints using an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
- Serving as a team member/coordinator of teams dispatched to crime scenes; collecting, preserving and analyzing evidence while maintaining chain of custody and integrity of the evidence.
- Serving as an expert witness in court proceedings; planning, coordinating and conducting technical research projects; drafting and reviewing reports, recommendations, standard operating procedures and guidelines. Conducting training for developmental level specialists; and serving as a technical expert and liaison.
